Donal's Camino Walk

 w
Walking the Camino. I've met many people, but I have met my first camino friend. He is a Canadian and his name is Jean Sebastien and I think that we struck up a close friendship in the few hours that we walked and got lost together. His girlfriend, is of Irish descent, and I hope to see both of them in Ireland, some day.
Today was much easier than yesterday so it gave me time for reflection, during the time I was walking alone. The Camino, to me , mimics life. The Camino is a journey. It has its good times and it has times that are not so good. We are learning all the time. Yesterday I learned that I had to respect the Camino. My preparation was not good so I was punished in having a bad day. I also didn't apply my Physics knowledge to my backpack packing having the centre of gravity too high hence the balance problem that I had. Today was a great improvement. Tomorrow will be better following advice from Jean Sebastien to put the heavier items at my existing Centre of Gravity.
Today was a near perfect walk, apart from getting lost for about an hour, when we took a wrong turn. Ground conditions were good and the weather was in mid twentys. The day was spent walking through farmlands a mixture of dairy and tillage.
Muscles that I haven't properly tuned up ache. From experience these aches will be gone after two more days walking and I should be able to step up my daily distances. But that is not important, its the quality of the journey that counts.
