Today I decided to activate my sponsorship for finance for Cancer Research and Treatment in St James.s Hospital Dublin. Doreen my late wife was a patient of Dr.John Kennedy there and myself and my family were very appreciative  of the treatment given to her by Dr Kennedy . Walking 1000 miles might be worth a few euro sponsorship!!!!
Today I walked 24.5 km from Le Communal to Faycelles a reasonably easy walk . One gets a sense of history walking the Camino. You are walking where millions before you have walked in the last 1000 years. Some of the rocks you walk on have hollows in them made by millions of footsteps and as you place your foot in these hollows you realise that yours is just one in millions and you realise  how small and insignificant you are in the great scheme of things.
Tonight I am staying in a hotel with my own room and the shower is one of these with jets aimed at your body from every direction which was great at the end of a long walk.
Earlier I had dinner with another walker Guy, from Quebec, one of the many Canadians that I have met on my trip. We shared interesting tales of our countries culture and history. From my experience of meeting all these Canadians, they really are a very friendly nation.

Dinner tonight was delicious starting with a lovely vegetable soup, followed by a starter a Duck Pate salad. Main course was beef bourginion and the desert was Creme Caramel. And we had this delicious red wine. It was so  dark it was nearly black and it was strong. i know, I know, its a tough life but somebody has to do it.

The breakfast was lovely as well. Lovely local bread and choice of jams- I had apricot, which is delicious here. There was also lovely Pan o chocolat and other lovely pastrys.
