. Today was a 20km walk from Aumont to -Aubrac to Rieutort-D'Aubrac.I started out at 7.15 after breakfast and it was nearly 10.00 before I encountered another pilgrim. It was quite cold early on and I had to wear my fleece but later on it got extremely hot and with no shelter it was   difficult enough but as long as I had enough water I was ok. I met my two Corsican friends again today and as usual they were very friendly.

HILLS You know when you are walking up a long hill, you keep looking to say where  the hill ends. Now on the Camino, you don't do that because the hills can be endless. One stretch of the Camino has an uphill of about 30 km and we had to climb 1500 feet during that stretch. But you come to accept that it is mostly uphill and you don't look for the hill to end.

ROAD AND PATH SURFACES
The surface underfoot can be anything from tarmac to loose stones, but it is mostly very uneven, rocky, undulating, muddy, lots of tree roots, grassy, pine needles, anything really, but for anybody with bad knees, it would be very difficult
