Donal's Camino Walk

Breakfast in the Ancen Carmel was fun. I asked about the Pilgrims' song and if anyone could sing it for me. We then had a session where I got lessons on how thw song went and I recorded the air of the song so that I could learn it. it really was a beautiful

During the day I went around the Abbey and it really was a beautiful church. Doreen, my late wife would have loved it, but then if she had lived we would never have come here. During my visit I lit some candles. I usually light two candles, one for Doreen and one for the people that she would want a candle lit for. I lit a third candle this time, one for Eileen McKeon and I texted Billy, her husband to tell him. It was an emotional visit for me. Tears are not an uncommon occurance by walkers so I shed a tear or two here.
I then went into the Cloisters and these really were fascinating. They reminded me of the cloisters on top of Mont St Michel in Normandy. I spent a lot of time there.

Today would be my last day with three very good frinds- Denise from Tasmania, Marceline from Geneva and Eveeylene from France. Marceline and Evelene were finishing and going home and Denise was staying an extra day in Moissac and would be walking shorter distances than me.

i had a beautiful lunch. Carafe of a half bottle of red wine, Fillets og Rouget and Langioustines and salad with sun dried tomatoes. The thee ladies me up with me there and had a desert.

That night in Ancen Carmel was our farewell dinner. In honour of our parting I sang an appropriate song, Mike Hanrahans "We had the best of times" The ladies were sad to be leaving and there were more tears . All the people there gave a big clap fpr me and said thanks to me as they left.

And then the staff, all voluntary workers insisted that we all sing the Pilgrims Song that they had taught me in the morning.
